The “Coupe des Calanques 2007” is a freediving sport team competition following specification and safety protocols sanctioned by AIDA International. This competition is a National With Guests competition and is appears on the international calendar. The maximum number of competitors is currently set at 60 freedivers, although only 30 non-French freedivers will be admitted. The competition will be held at Marseilles, in the South of France. Dynamic and static events will take place in an outdoor Olympic pool (50m long).

     

This competition is organized by the Y.C.P.R. and its partners as introduced below:

Diagonale Alpha - The European distributor of B.W.A inflatable boats.
Their participation is crucial for the logistic side of the event as they will provide their boats for safety and support during the constant weight trials.




Y.C.P.R. - Yachting Club de la Pointe Rouge
Located in the heart of la Pointe Rouge Harbor, this multi-sport club includes a Freediving sub-division established in September 2004. To acknowledge this recent freediving club, the YCPR will be involved in the organization of the 2 days of constant weight trials.




fMassilia Sub - Underwater Hockey and freediving
It is the first freediving club created in Marseilles... the first and the biggest, with help from its fifty freedivers this competition could not exist.


C.I.P.A. - Centre International de Plongée en Apnée
Located in Nice, this club organized the first Freediving World Championship in 1996. They will provide their knowledge and experience and assist the Marseilles Team with their judges, boats and safety systems for the participating athletes.




Guidone - “The first manufacturer of modern monofins in France”. This association devoted to the safety of the freediver will donate the first model of a new generation of monofins. This monofin will be offered to the winner of the 50 meters (without fins) race at the Luminy Olympic pool at the end of the event.
